So far, it's been great. We're extremely diligent about the charging port being dry when we go to charge the unit as I can only assume many of the negative reviews are from shorts when the water allows the two points to conduct while charging.
For cleaning, I figured I would try it without the app and ended up never installing the app. The system works off of three modes on the robot itself. Floor and walls, floor, or walls. We've found that we have no need to touch the app with these three. Last thing I want is another app on my phone.
We have strict rules about robot management to ensure longevity, given that we killed some prior out of ignorance:
1) charge only when dry
2) run it then get it out of the water ASAP
3) store out of direct sunlight.
4) charge in a cool space
5) hose off the filters when it's done
So far, so good.
I like that the robot parks itself on the pool wall, waiting to be hooked out of the water when it finishes.
Our run time is always in excess of 3 hours, which suits us perfectly well.
I keep the charger and robot stored in my grill cabinet which is shaded, cool and we'll ventilated. This works because I don't have a propane tank in there. It also doesn't get warm when cooking so it works very well to create a nice environment for the robot.
It does a great job of cleaning the walls, waterline, fine sediment and floors. By default, it seems to use an "S pattern" which is exactly what we wanted.
I had a Dolphin Nautilus CC that died and this thing blows it out of the water. Best of all, this works in conjunction with my robot skimmer, where corded models did not.
We really never wanted a cordless model, but when we realized what a game changer a robot skimmer is, we decided to try for cordless. I expected a cordless model to be weak. This thing is anything but weak, you can see the wake it causes from the top port even when it's about 5' below the surface. The previous corded models I had didn't even churn the surface at 3', so this thing is definitely impressive.
Given the asking price, it's quite steep but I have to say it's been worth it given my experience to date.
My sole complaint is that the unit arrived with the door slightly offset, so I have to push it in an awkward way to get it to lock. I got an inquiry pending with the vendor for that issue. I'll update the review based on their response.
