After using the Wybot C1 and M1, I wanted to see what the hype is surrounding the “AI” driven bots. While I experienced one issue, it has done a wonderful job cleaning my pool. Spoilers: I’m giving it four stars, but it’s a solid 5 star contender.
My pool is very basic… it’s a 10k gallon rectangle with no frills. It is enclosed, but debris from my Oak trees fills the pool every pollen season. To test the M2 I turned off my pump for three days and I let the junk accumulate. The bottom was a mess, and the waterline had a solid ring around the full 360*’s.
The M2 starts off like every other pool robot: unbox, charge overnight, pair with phone app, chances are it’ll need a firmware update, drop in pool, and let it do its thing. The M1 and M2 both have secondary filters, but I removed the secondary filter since everything I want to clean is large particle. While my C1 and M1 tend to wander around aimlessly, the M2 moved with purpose. It made quick work of the floor (see basket!) leaving nothing behind. Next up was waterline, and it cleaned a solid 90%... that’s considerably more than my M1.
What was the issue I mentioned above? Battery life. Wybot claims 300 minutes, but I’m falling an hour short. In the several cleaning cycles my M2 has completed it is averaging 240 minutes. Would that extra hour allow it to clear 100% of the waterline? Maybe a future firmware update can address that.
Do I recommend the Wybot M2? Absolutely. Despite the battery problem, it does a fantastic job. It has a steep list price, but you’ll make that back in no time by firing your pool cleaning company.
